Monofocal lens - gives you sharp vision only at a distance

EDOF lens - gives you sharp vision at both far and intermediate distances. Intermediate distance refers to everyday needs at home/work. For example, you can clearly see food on a plate, things in a cupboard or refrigerator, yourself in a mirror, the image on a computer screen, price tags in a store. You use glasses for reading.

Trifocal lenses - give you sharp vision at far, intermediate, and near distances. Very rarely, you may need small glasses to read fine print.

Toric lens - All of the listed lenses exist with a so-called cylindrical component and are used only in patients with astigmatism.
